Design Trends in 2019
Posted on 16 November 2018
2019 is just around the corner, and what better way to start the year than to do some redecorating? Also, if you’re just looking into buying a place for you, a guide to what’s going to be in and out when it comes to interior design next year will be a lot of help. If you’re not one to follow trends, well, at least this blog could at least provide a little bit of inspiration on how you could make your place fresh and stylish. For several years, minimalism is the style that most people go for -- white walls, white furniture, and a touch of black. In 2019, it is predicted that “color” is the trend. There’s going to be some new accents that could turn any “plain” room into something interesting. Bolder prints are also predicted to be trendy as well. Maximalism It is predicted that Maximalism is coming back, meaning it is the contrast of minimalism where there’s esthetic of excess. The idea or maximalism is “more is more”, so expect prints, prints, and more prints. Imagine leopard prints and loud colors on walls. Round Oak Tables Brass tables have been quite popular for years, but in 2019, it is predicted that oak tables will be the trend when it comes to coffee tables. Coffee tables from white oak provide such inspiration and style to living rooms of all shapes and sizes. Colorful Décor Elements Velvet cushions, baroque style chairs, and other decor which seemingly from the renaissance times are some of those that would definitely attract a lot of attention in 2019. A lot of homeowners tend to choose to make a statement when it comes to redecorating their homes, which is why color is going to be very prevalent in many homes. Built-in Sofas Built-in sofas have been around for a while, but they’re not what you call the norm. People often purchase sofas for their homes, but with built-in sofas, they can be built tailored to your liking and most of the time with side tables as well. Built-in sofas usually come with storage too, and this is a great way to save some space especially in smaller homes. Mixture of Modern and Traditional Although mixing modern and traditional pieces have been done for years now, in 2019, it’s predicted to be very popular. High contrasts, such as modern pieces, let’s say modern style chairs plus traditional chandelier piece to decorate the home will definitely give it a whole new vibe. Marbles Marble tables and furniture will continue to be a popular style among homeowners, and if 2018 saw green and black marbles, it is predicted that 2019 will welcome pink marbles with a modern twist. Warm Tones Warm tones used to be quite popular back in the 90s, but for many years, it has been completely underappreciated. Warm tones and neutrals are both predicted to be prominent in 2019, like, beige paired with taupe or walnut colors.
