Thinking of moving to Melbourne? Why don’t you try and look for a rental home (minimum of 1 year) that’s close to a cafe where you can chill during daytime or a bar where you can hang out with some of your friends? Here’s a few areas in the suburbs you might want to check it out, especially if you want somewhere close to really cool cafes and bars. Carlton, Richmond, and Collingwood The inner part of Melbourne, particularly Swan Street in Richmond has a wide range of pubs where you can get some drinks. Music venues can also be seen around the area. If you’re looking to rent an apartment, you’d be able to find ones ranging from $300 to $450 per week. On Smith Street, located in Collingwood, you’ll find a few fun bars close to apartments ranging from $500 to $600 a week, while if you’re more into Italian restaurants and cafes, Carlton’s Lygon Street is where you can find apartments in a high-rise building ranging from $320 to $600 per week. Brunswick, Thornbury, Preston The North part of Melbourne is home to more grungy style bars and cafes that are close to two-bedroom cottages with that heritage style. These range from $500 to $600, while in High Street found in Thornbury, you may enjoy Greek style cafes that are quite popular with the older generation. The industrial feel Preston is still very much present, but is slowly catering to the needs of those who enjoy a more fun and relaxed lifestyle. St. Kilda, Prahran, Windsor If you’re looking for some of the best cocktail bars you can find in the South of Melbourne, Prahran and Windsor are the places to be. Both areas have a very lively lifestyle, and a shopping strip in the Chapel Street. A one-bedroom unit close to all of these, cost $325 to $550 weekly. In St. Kilda, you can find a two-bedroom unit ranging from $450 to $700 close to the best beaches. Hawthorn, Armadale The Eastern part of Melbourne is home to the elite. This area is where all the stylish cafes and designer stores can be found. Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn has pricey homes that range from $750 to $2000 weekly. While High Street, Armadale is where you’ll find homes ranging from $360 to $700 weekly. This area is surrounded by fashion stores people just love Yarravile, Footscray Cafes and movie theatres can be found in Anderson and Ballarat Streets, Yarravile. Some of the homes you can find here cost about $385 to $550 a week, while in Barkly Street, Footscray, home to the best Asian, specifically Vietnamese restaurants in the city, cost about $380 to $650 per week.
